14th November 2024 - New ale to be launched at the Cock and Bull on Friday 15th November

Gypping Ales, our local craft brewery, are proud to announce the launch of their new beer, 'Monkey Come', which will take place at the Cock and Bull, Gypping in the Marsh, at 3pm on Friday 15th November. Our local MP, Gilbert Murray, will be there, and everyone is welcome.

The new beer is named after an infamous event back in 2004, when a pet monkey escaped and caused havoc in the village. Why not come along and try a bottle of Monkey Come yourself?

17th September 2024 - Gilbert Murray MP to open MC Murray retrospective exhibition at the village hall

Gilbert Murray MP will be opening a new art exhibition at Gypping in the Marsh village hall on Saturday 28th September. The exhibition will be a retrospective of the work of one of Gypping in the Marsh's most celebrated artists, Maurits Cornelis Murray (1898 - 1972), a graphic artist who specialised in woodcuts, lithographs and mezzotints. Many of his works were influenced by the unique triple helix staircase at Saint Bodkin's church.

The exhibition will open at 11am sharp. The Gypping in the Marsh Women's Institute will be providing tea, cakes and cabbages.

29th August 2024 - Important new relic now on display at Saint Bodkin's church

August 2024 has been an exciting month for Saint Bodkin's: as well as the addition of three fine new statues, Reverend Murray has managed to obtain, at great expense, an important relic for the church: a lock of the Great Prophet Noel's beard. The relic, which is housed in a beautiful, jewelled, golden reliquary, was purchased on Ebay from a renowned seller of hair-related artefacts - K9Kutz of Penzance - following a frantic bidding war. It is now available for veneration behind a screen of bulletproof glass in the south aisle of Saint Bodkin's church, close to the new statue of the Great Prophet Noel.

Reverend Murray anticipates that the acquisition of such a fine relic will make Saint Bodkin's a place of pilgrimage for many, and requests that worshippers form an orderly queue.

These surgeries will be an ideal opportunity to talk to our MP in person about any issues you may need his help with.
